LinkedIn is collaborating with Veterans Passport to Hope for their fourth annual gala taking place on Veterans Day, November 11, 2015 at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver, CO.
Veterans Passport to Hope is 100% volunteer based and serves to raise awareness for veteran issues, foster collaboration between other veteran focused non-profits, and raise funds that will directly benefit Colorado based veterans and their families as well as veterans throughout the country through our partner non-profits.
“Stay the Course” is the theme of this year’s event, encouraging all of our veterans to continue to work to achieve their goals, no matter the obstacles and challenges they may face. Over the past three years this event has raised more than $729,000 from over 1,500 guests and sponsors for Colorado based veteran non-profits.
LinkedIn will be onsite at our gala with their LinkedIn bus and veteran trained staff which will allow veterans and their spouses to create their LinkedIn profile, get a professional LinkedIn profile head shot, and to get on-site mentorship in order to make the most of their LinkedIn profile and network. In addition, LinkedIn will be providing veterans and their spouses with a 1-year free subscription to their Premium Job Seeker Account.
Past beneficiaries have been Colorado based non-profits such as the Wounded Warrior Project (Colorado Springs Office), The Home Front Cares, Project Sanctuary, and the Vail Veterans Program.
“This year we were able to open up the VP2H Grant which will serve as a funding platform for Colorado based veteran non-profits to together achieve our mission in helping Colorado based veterans and their families. The VP2H Grant allowed us to help fund 17 different veteran focused non-profits here in Colorado in 2015.” – Shane Schmutz, Founder.
With emcee Mandy Connell from 830 KHOW, guests will enjoy a silent and live auction, dinner, live music, and inspirational keynote speaker Cpl. Daniel Riley – A combat veteran, triple amputee, and leader who has continued throughout his challenges to “Stay the Course”.
